Francis, Dick DEAD CERT [ Autographed First Edition ] London Michael Joseph 1962 First Edition; First Printing Hardcover Very Good+ in Very Good dust jacket Signed by Author Autograph; 8vo ; AUTOGRAPHED on titlepage "Hi, XXXX, Dick Francis." The true First Edition (published in London) of Dick Francis' first thriller in what became a landmark series of horse racing mysteries. Burgundy cloth binding in pictorial dust wrapper. Binding very slightly canted, corners sharp, light offsetting to free endpapers where exposed beyond dustwrapper flaps (as usual), a very few faint spots of foxing to preliminary leaves, (the half title leaf and the last blank leaf and the rear free-endpaper). Dustwrapper design by Trevor Denning; price-clipped, some very modest edgewear with minor loss at spine ends and lower corners, mild toning to white background and some faint superficial staining to rear panel (see images).
