Philadelphia Henry Altemus 1903 First Edition Hardcover Very Good
8vo; (vi), 201, (2) pages; Blue cloth decorative binding with art nouveau design on front cover. Story about a young boy (african American), partially in dialect. Ruth McEnery Stuart makes extensive use of stereotypic black dialect and African American characters. Excellent full page black and white illustrations by Edward Potthast. Spine faded, old birthday greeting (quite charming) tipped in of ffep, otherwise Very Good.
