Autograph; 318 pages; Warmly inscribed by the author, "With best wishes for your/ future happiness/ Sarah M. Algeo. / Somamset. Barrington, R.I./ Oct. 14, 1929" Maroon cloth stamped in gilt with title and facsimile of author's signature on front panel. Illustrated with 91 half-tones after photographs of those women and men active in the suffrage movement in Rhode Island as well as nationally. In this autobiography she described her long struggle for the cause of woman suffrage, which she began at an early age. In this book, are speeches by Anna Howard Shaw, letters to various newspapers by Algeo and others, contemporary editorials on womens suffrage along with first-hand accounts of state and national events make this an important source of material on the Suffrage Movement. A bright clean copy of this scarce work on the history of the womens' movement in the Rare DUSTJACKET. The white dustjacket has some light soiling, a few small chips at head of spine and corners. ; Signed by Author; Experience the pleasure of reading and appreciating this actual printed item. It has its own physical history that imbues it with a character lacking in ephemeral electronic renderings.
