Adams, A. W. (Alice W) RHYMES FOR LITTLE READERS Boston D. Lothrop Company 1890 First Edition Hardcover Good ; Oblong Small 4to; [25] ff pages; Publisher's pictorial boards with cloth spine. A seriously worn copy -- one of the two official U.S. Copyright deposit copies, with the following marks. Two small paper labels mounted to the front cover; one Library of Congress Bookplate mounted to the front paste-down endpaper; and the oval Copyright stamp on the title page, dated Sept. 22 1890 -- and, faintly stamped on the front cover, the modern Surplus-Duplicate stamp of the Library of Congress. The text block is now disbound from the boards (which are worn, especially at the edges), the leaves are separated, and several have marginal tears or other defects. A rough copy, but complete, and with considerable documentary interest as a Copyright Deposit copy. The only listing in the OCLC for this scarce title is a microform reprint, in the Library of Congress (almost certainly photographed from this copy, before the LC de-acquisitioned it).
