Chicago: A. Warner & Co., 1889. The portrait measures 10" by 7" with the image and facsimile autograph centered; protective tissue guard in place. Engraved by F. G. Kernan & Co. James P. White (1826- ) was born in Ireland to a farming family. He preferred a more urban life and repaired to Dublin where he learned tailoring. Seeking the most productive location in which to practice his trade, White immigrated to Philadelphia, then to Pittsburgh and finally settled in McKeesport, Pennsylvania. His success in the merchant tailoring business enable him to make very astute real estate investments rendering him the largest real estate owner in McKeesport. He was president of the People's Bank of McKeesport and a director of the First National Bank of McKeesport.
