1 pages; A steel engraved portrait of Simon Beymer extracted from Cushing's History of Allegheny County, Pennsylvania, Including its Early Settlement... also Portraits of Some of its Prominent Men. Chicago: A. Warner & Co., 1889. The portrait measures 10" by 7" with the image and facsimile autograph centered; protective tissue guard in place. Simon Beymer, white-lead manufacturer, Pittsburgh, was born in Ohio in 1829. In 1852 he came to Pittsburgh, and took employment with the wholesale drughouse of B.A. Fahnestock & Co., which firm was engaged in the manufacture of white-lead. At the end of five years he became a partner with B.L. Fahnestock in the wholesale drug business. In 1867 the firm of Beymer, Bauman & Co., was formed and established white-lead works.
