Jean Adhémar (1908-1987) was a French librarian, academic and art historian. For a time he served as director of the Print Cabinet of the Bibliotheque Nationale. Honoré Daumier (1808 -1879) was a prolific caricaturist, painter, and sculptor, particularly known for his satirical caricatures and drawings 19th-century French politics and society.
