Articles include New Carriers escort our Merchant Ships, Hydraulics - Ancient and Modern, U.S. Merchant Marine Academy, Techinical Battlefronts, etc. Laid in is a large (12" x 9") color photograph titled "SPERRY - Guardian of the Skies" and an 8 page pamphlet listing the "Graduates of Sperry Service Schools - June 1 to September 15, 1943." Illustrated with photographs throughout. Sperry Gyroscope Company founded in 1910 as the Sperry Gyroscope Company by Elmer Ambrose Sperry to manufacture navigation equipment, chiefly his own inventions – the marine gyrostabilizer and the gyrocompass. Later the Sperry Corporation was formed as a holding company for a number of smaller entities such as the original Sperry Gyroscope, Ford Instrument Company, Intercontinental Aviation, Inc., and others. The company made advanced aircraft navigation equipment for the market, including the Sperry Gyroscope and the Sperry Radio Direction Finder.
