Autograph; 1 pages; Clean single sheet typed letter on printed letterhead of Cooper, Rives & Baskin, actually signed by H. H. Baskin, Jr. and labelled "Copy" Letter regarding the transfer of the property known as the Belleview Biltmore Hotel Property. The matter is the pay-off of the mortgage held by U.S. Steel (represented by Mr. John D. Fite) which is delaying the transfer of property to Mr. Bernard F. Powell. In 1946, Bernard Powell joined prominent investor Roger Stevens in purchasing the Belleview Biltmore Hotel, dubbed "the biggest white elephant on the West Coast of Florida." Dilapidated from occupation by U.S. military forces during the war, it was renovated to a world renowned 4 Star Mobile Award resort. The addition of the Donald Ross golf courses and the Gulf-side Cabana Club complemented the magnificent hotel. For decades, the resort was a favorite of international figures such as the Duke of Windsor, American Presidents, and distinguished captains of industry and their families. ; Signed by Author
