Gihon, many after work by "L. Elliot." Former owner's names in pencil on rear endpapers: "Sarah May" and "John Edward May." John Edward May was the son of Samuel Joseph May (1815-1871) and Lucretia Flagge Coffin (1799-1865). Sarah May, (granddaughter of Samuel and Lucretia and niece of John Edward May), was born on 19 Jan 1870 to Joseph May and Harriet Charles Johnson. Sarah married Walter Dumaux Edmonds and had 2 children.
